“All books are divisible into two classes, the books of the hour, and the books of all time.” – John Ruskin
10th April 2008

Each month we will be focussing on a different theme for the National Year of Reading. April's theme is Read All About it.
Reading isn't just about books, you can read anything and everything, anywhere and everywhere! You might think that you don't have time to read - or that you don't enjoy reading - because we always associate it with books. But have a quick think about what you have actually read today: Maybe a newspaper article. Have you received a text message or email? Have you been reading a website? You're reading this blog now!
Personally, I don't think you can beat curling up on the sofa with a a good book and a packet of maltesers... but I also enjoy reading the menu at my favourite restaurant and I love flicking through all the leaflets I get with my local freebie newspaper!
But what about you? Why not tell us what you like to read and where you like to read it?

I just love the richness of the language - words themselves are just such an amazing medium. They can be used to express a full spectrum of emotions, to encourage, to inform, to wound, to love. It's like an artist's palette where you can mix a new colour by putting together others, to create something that somehow brings to life what's in the mind's eye. Or on the other hand, you can just enjoy reading the instructions on the packet!

23rd April 2008
I think I have a serious problem in that I'll sit and read literally anything, as something to do, rather than just sitting doing nothing.
I often find myself reading competition terms and conditions on cereal boxes!
Words are meant to be read I guess.
Ooh shampoo ingredients are another common one when I'm in the bath :)
